A New Chapter at Sosta Cafe
Hi! It’s Jehn here .
For 18 years, Sosta Cafe was a cherished spot in Downtown Raleigh, founded and nurtured by its original French owner, Jerome, who brought a passion for quality coffee and food to the community.
A year ago, I had a privilege of taking over this beloved cafe and its rich history, with deep passion for coffee, great food and creating a welcoming space for the community, Ive worked to build on its legacy while bringing fresh ideas. My goal is to make Sosta Cafe not just a coffee shop, but a place where people come to connect, unwind and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

Sosta Cafe Legacy.
It all begins with a passion.
The name "Sosta" means "a restful break" and that truly captures the cafe's philosophy. The cafe provides continuous service and a full menu with an added focus on good art and truly enjoyable, unique music. The owner, Jerome Lauck, makes personal customer service a priority - come and check it out!

The Beginning.
“I have always worked in the food industry; and as a French person, because food is so important in our culture, I always felt that food was a great way to connect and share with people. Meals are taken facing and talking to each other. The idea of a good lunch would be helpful in getting people to take a break instead of just looking for something to fill their stomachs. The lunch business is often overlooked and neglected by the industry because dinners make the most with alcohol.
I thought we could offer a classic fare: sandwiches, but with flavor!
I prefer the hours of lunch service as opposed to dinners because they allow for more personal and family life. It is a great balance while still working in the food industry. Wanting to show that people could enjoy a break and a good sandwich during the day, I started Sosta, and developed so many meaningful relationships that Sosta became my life. People would address me when they would recognize me in the street as Sosta guy! Went in for the food and stayed for the people...”
